Dinner and the TARDIS DOOR!!!

I had a really good conversation last night with my former boss about the potential at her workplace. She was very open and honest about her team, how things are going, personality issues that she's dealing with, and the fact that she wants me to *really* think about the commute because I'd have to go to that office at least 3 days/week. The company is large and there are several openings right now, but none of them are under her team at this time. She can apply to have one of them moved to her team but she doesn't know how long that will take (she's only been there for about a year). I really appreciated her honesty and openness about it (especially because some of the personality issues she's dealing with are not good), so I have lots to think about, but some time to think about it.

Also, when I returned home last night, Zen had finished up the back door! Pic below the cut! I love it so much. He has a little bit of cleanup to do around the door and he wants to paint the bit below it black, but I'm so happy with how it turned out.

Thank you! I'm so excited, I love how it turned out. It's our back door and I was telling him I'm going to have to exclusively leave out the back door instead of the front from now on ;)

OMG, that is so fabulous! Give Zen two thumbs up from me!

As for the job, it's good that she's honest with you. It was be terrible if you decided to take it and then found all this stuff out.

I will! I was so pleased, we were really struggling with the "windows" part and he came up with a great idea (picture frames!) and went with it and I just love how it looks.

I definitely appreciate her honesty. Of course it would be easier if it was a slam dunk "yes" but I'm glad I really get to consider it for a while.

It's always fun (not) when something that seems simple ends up being a struggle. Whenever my designer would approach me with, "Okay, this will be easy." I knew I was in for it. It looks marvelous!

To me experience, there is no such thing as a slam dunk. There always seems to be something. Fingers crossed for an easier-than-hoped for decision.

It's true, there's rarely a slam dunk. I could look elsewhere, I just had so many positives with her that I thought the transition would be ideal. Either way, I don't have to do anything right now. :)

It's always good to have the time to make a considered decision. Good luck!

That door looks fabulous!

I'm glad you got the real scoop on the job opportunity from your friend. It's good to know what you'd be getting into.

Thank you! I love it :)

And me too, she could have glossed over the not so good stuff but I really appreciated her taking the time to tell me everything.
